Fifteen Years of Basketball

The tournament was born in 1997 through the combined efforts of David Dunn, executive director of the Forrest City Chamber of Commerce, and former Forrest City Athletic Director, Bill Baxter.

The Forrest City Advertising and Promotions Commission is the tournament's biggest financial supporter. The Rumble on the Ridge is the perfect event for the A&P Sponsorship because it makes Forrest City an annual destination for hundreds of basketball fans for four days each November.

In 2001 the tournament switched corporate sponsors when Forrest City Grocery took over for Mountain Dew, which sponsored the first four Rumbles. Forrest City Grocery, a family-owned business, annually makes generous donations to the Forrest City Education Foundation and to the school and athletic events.

2010, the name of the tournament has been changed to the David J. Cohn Rumble on the Ridge.

Local businesses and hundreds of volunteers donate their time, energy and resources to the tournament each year to ensure that the Rumble on the Ridge tournament is a success.
